Songwriters Parade - James StroudAnother new record label? Yep. It is going to be a goodie. Ace producer James Stroud announced to the press this past week the opening of his new Nashville label, Stroudavarious Records.  The line will be distributed by RED, a distribution arm of Sony/BMG. Joining Stroud in his efforts to establish the new imprint is promotion veteran Bill Catino.

The first release will be a Christmas album by the Stroudavarious Orchestra, a package made up of all the great Christmas standards. It is rumored that Stroud is adding to his roster. There is a possibility he may have Lorrie Morgan, Daryl Worley and a Willie Nelson project. James Stroud’s resume is very impressive. When he was president of Giant Records, He cut hit albums on Toby Keith.

As an indie producer he had huge success with all the Clint Black hits. He also scored with Alabama, Melissa Etheridge, The Neville Brothers, Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw, etc. Stroud is a mover and shaker. He and I spent time together rabbit hunting in years past. He’s a great outdoorsman and a good guy.
