Music Hall Of Fame Awards

I think you’ll agree there are far too many award shows. There are far too many to mention. However, there are some very meaningful awards that honor people in the music business years after they have proven their greatness. I like the CMA Awards, even though they continue to overlook the legendary Wilburn Brothers. I like the Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Fame awards for obvious reasons.

My next favorite award ceremony is The Musicians Hall of Fame. AMEN! These are the people who give true identity to hit records. We’ve been in the studio many times with seven session musicians and it seemed like we have seven extra producers, all searching for better ways to help the artist and the song sound better. They are the unsung heroes on many, many hit records. As you read these names, think back to the music behind the hit records. You’ll no doubt hear the wonderful sounds of Booker T and the MGs, The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, The Memphis Horns, The Crickets, Al Kooper and producer Billy Sherrill. Sherrill is a great commercial pianist.

There will be one final inductee prior to the show date, October 28th.  The awards will be given at the Schermerhorn Symphony Hall in downtown Nashville. We all need to thank founder and director of the Musicians Hall of Fame, Joe Chambers. He had the vision and the desire to keep the historic musicians in the annual spotlight.
