 Talk on the street here is about the MTV Awards show where Nashville’s Taylor Swift won the award for best female video of the year. As you are aware by now, artist Kanye West jumped up onto the stage, ripped the microphone out of Taylor’s had while she was preparing an acceptance speech. Naturally, Taylor was shocked. Kanye yelled to the audience that he though artist Beyonce Knowles (aka Sacha Fierce) had a better video. Beyonce would later give an assist to Taylor, inviting her to finish her acceptance speech. This was a nice move by Beyonce and Taylor showed her appreciation. This is nice but where does Kanye West get off by doing such a despicable thing? In today’s thug culture, it could make him look like a bigger man and give him more “street cred” in today’s R&B/Hip-Hop music circles. This is merely a reflection of young people not having parental guidance growing up, learning right from wrong and a total lack of class. Naturally, he apologized on his blog about his actions and Taylor’s feelings. |
