There are many artists who do good things for many various causes. We could name them all but space doesn’t permit. However, the story on Rodney Atkins in Country AirCheck is a real winner. Entitled “These Are My People”, Rodney went back to his hometown of Greenville, TN to dedicate the opening of the Holston United Methodist Home for Children, from which he was adopted as a baby. Atkins performed, signed autographs, spent time with the children, and dedicated the new “Rodney Atkins Youth Home.”
“This is absolutely one of the greatest things of my life”, Atkins said. “This isn’t a career achievement. It is a life achievement.” CMT Insider aired the event on August 29 and 30th. Considering that Rodney has come from the orphanage to one of the hottest acts in the business says a lot. What a blessing for Rodney and what a blessing Rodney is to the kids in the Greenville facility. It really has the ingredients for a great movie. |
