During the past few years we’ve watched with interest the murder trial of producer/writer Phil Spector. A judge sentenced Phil 19 years to life last Friday for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson in 2003. Four years of the sentence is for personal use of a gun. You may remember that Clarkson died from a single shot to the mouth that was determined to be fired from Spector’s gun. The two met earlier that evening in a club. But the defense argued that Clarkson, a hostess at the House of Blues in Hollywood, was despondent over an unsuccessful career and committed suicide as a result. Spector plans an appeal.
