When preparing to pitch a song to an artist whose style you are unfamiliar with, always do some sort of a search. Go to the label website or “Google” the artist and get a sampling of his/her singing voice and type of music they are doing. As you know, it can get expensive sending CDs and lyrics. On the flip side, you don’t want to run the risk of having a closed door to an artist or producer by sending the wrong type of material time after time. It also affects others as doors begin to close on all of us. We can help each other in small ways.
