Songwriters Parade - GrammysThe Grammys were really good this year except for the overkill on the rap songs that were totally inaudible and amateurish. You’ve read all about Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and we hope you saw them on the show. They got more exposure on CBS than any other act. Months ago we reviewed the album, “Raising Sand”. We spoke of the wonderful T. Bone Burnett production. Upon writing the review, we never would have guessed it would become the #1 Grammy album winner.

Ditto the “Record Winner” “Please Read The Letter.” We thought Jennifer Nettles singing her Best Country Song “Stay” was a gem on television. She really got into the lyric in a big way.  Seeing George Strait win Album of the Year was nice. The highlight of the Grammys was the fact that Alison Krauss has won 26 Grammys over the years; more than Aretha, Striesand, Celine Dione, etc. Even though he got a lot attention, T. Bone Burnett was the producer of the Traditional Blues Album, “One Kind Favor” by B.B. King. We are T Bone’s #1 fans. Nashville was very well represented.

The only disappointment for us was the Carrie Underwood performance. We are big Carrie Underwood fans, but her act was not country. Far from it. It really proves that every country act wants to be a pop star, Carrie included.
