On The Streets of Nashville

Speaking of Merle Haggard, he will be the guest of honor at the annual banquet/awards show in March for the Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Fame. This is the evening that honors the country radio air personalities that became legendary in radio. In the past, the artists honored were Sonny James, Eddy Arnold, Ronnie Milsap, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, and many others. This is the wonderful event of which I am the founder. The Country Radio Broadcasters have certainly taken it to a new level. We are all excited about Merle’s being with us on “his” night. He is suffering with cancer and this could be a night that should hold a complete love affair to Haggard from country radio and vice versa.

The thrust of this publication is songs and songwriting. Please be sure to read our January E-News and read the review on the new Terry Smith album. This album is loaded with solid traditional country songs. Please note the first listing in this issue……… ******A few months back, producer/writer/artist Robin Adair Hays send us the CD of 2ru North. This group is looking for material that is very diverse. They do country rock, gospel and praise tunes and straight country. The chances of getting your material heard that you feel others wouldn’t be interested in presents a good opportunity. Send your CD to Robin ASAP.
